My Thoughts
I love the portability of a laptop and the fact that I can take it anywhere. Unfortunately, most laptops don’t have a built-in number pad. When you crunch a lot of numbers, you need one. I knew I needed one and I started thinking of requirements.
The first requirement: it had to be full featured. There are some companies that take exactly what would be on a normal keyboard and put it on their number pad. This isn’t full featured. I need all the basic arithmetic options and at least backspace and tab buttons. This number pad has both. The only button it is missing is a double zero button. It also has access buttons for your computers spreadsheet and calculator programs.
The second requirement: it had to be either cord detachable or wireless. I hate have cords coming out of my accessories. Think what it would be like if you MP3 player had its cord permanently attached. So I wanted to be able to disconnect the cord from the keypad when I didn’t need it. I couldn’t find any keypads like that, so I found a wireless one. It works off two AAA batteries (nothing unusual) and it even came with a carrying case so I don’t accidentally damage it. All I have to do is press a button on the back when I want to use it and press the button again when I’m done.
If your needs are similar to mine, this is the perfect product for you.
